Preventing enduring behavioural problems in young children through early psychological intervention: Healthy Start, Happy Start
Design and Objective
Families are randomly allocated to either an intervention group who receive the programme under study or a control group who receive standard treatment and services. The programme involves 6 home visits which aim to help parents to understand and respond to their child's behaviour. The study aims to assess whether the programme is more helpful to families than existing services available on the NHS.
Key inclusion criteria
Parents aged > 18 years with child aged 12-36 months who scores in top 20% for behavioural problems on population norms.
