Aortic Aneurysmal Regression of Dilation : Value of Ace-inhibition on RisK

Design and Objective

This trial will assess whether an ACE inhibitor drug called perindopril will reduce the growth rate of small abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs). It will also assess whether a small reduction in blood pressure levels with any drug also could reduce the growth rate of AAAs.

Key inclusion criteria

1)Willing and able to give written informed consent 2) Men or women, aged at least 55 years 3)With AAA 3 to 5.4 cm in diameter by internal or external measurement according to ultrasound AND 4) A systolic BP <150mmHg (unless they require and are already receiving an ACE-inhibitor or amlodipine 10mg daily).
